Fira is building a nearly 200-meter-long parking facility in Hyvinkää

Construction service company Fira has won the contract to build the Hangonsilta parking facility in Hyvinkää. The parking structure will be located between the Kipinätalo building and the railway tracks. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2025.

What makes the parking facility special is its shape and façade. The building will be about 200 meters long and will pass underneath a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that crosses the railway. The façade will feature vertical slats made from W-profile road guardrails — the same kind commonly seen along roadsides. The building will also be highlighted with striking lighting.

-We’ve built many differently shaped parking facilities, but never anything this long. Our expertise isn’t limited by shape. The Hangonsilta parking facility will look especially impressive when lit up in the evening, says Jyrki Latvala, Project Manager at Fira.

-The parking facility is located in a central urban area, so the project has taken into account high visual standards. Its users will include the nearby multi-purpose arena, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, and Kipinä Upper Secondary School, explains Pasi Ratia, Project Manager for the City of Hyvinkää.

The Hangonsilta parking facility will include 221 parking spaces, eight of which are reserved for people with reduced mobility. In addition, the second floor will have six separate motorcycle spaces. For electric vehicle drivers, 20 charging stations will be available on the ground floor.

Construction of the Hangonsilta parking facility will begin in summer 2025, and the project is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2026.
