Unique High-Rise Building in the Heart of Myyrmäki

We built a 16-storey residential tower for VAV Asunnot in the center of Myyrmäki, Vantaa. The building includes 120 rental apartments and is located in a prime spot close to services and public transport. Construction began in May 2024 and was completed in early autumn 2025. The apartments range from 33 m² studios to 76.5 m² four-room family homes. The building offers impressive views, and the top floors feature shared sauna facilities, cooling balconies, and a community room

Built with a functional industrial construction concept

Fira’s residential construction concept played a key role in the planning of the project, enabling a fast turnaround. Completing a 16-storey tower in about 15 months is exceptionally quick—much faster than traditional construction models for similar buildings. This was achieved through careful scheduling and the efficiency benefits of industrial construction methods.

The project was delivered as a turnkey project (KVR), meaning Fira was responsible from the start for both design coordination and construction. This model allowed Fira to leverage its strengths, such as strong design expertise and innovative solutions, already during the development phase. Fira’s design team worked closely with the client (VAV) from the beginning to find optimal solutions in terms of both cost and quality.

Built sustainably and responsibly

Sustainable and responsible construction is a core value for both Fira and VAV. The Myyrmäentie project was built to meet energy class A standards, and solar panels on the roof generate part of the building’s electricity.

Architecturally, the building was designed to bring light and openness into the apartments. Large windows, glazed balconies, and well-thought-out layouts make the homes comfortable and functional. The total length of balconies in the building is over one kilometer. The façade has a modern look that fits naturally into the Myyrmäki cityscape.

– We have completed two consecutive design-build projects with Fira, and the collaboration has gone very smoothly. Once again, the schedule was kept well on track. The 17-storey building on Myyrmäentie is our tallest project so far. It was a pleasure to carry it out together with Fira, says Antti Huurre, Construction Director at VAV Asunnot Oy.
