Fira is modernising the MaarinPortti office building in Espoo

Construction service company Fira has started an office modernization project in northern Tapiola, near Otaniemi in Espoo. The MaarinPortti property is owned by EAB Value Added Fund III Ky, a real estate development fund managed by Evli. NeuvotON Oy Kiinteistökehityspalvelut is acting as the developer’s advisor.

The renovation of MaarinPortti began last winter with a façade upgrade carried out by Fira to improve the building’s energy efficiency. The project aims to achieve LEED Platinum certification. This highest level of the world’s most widely used green building rating system sets strict requirements for energy efficiency, water use, and indoor air quality.

The interior modernization work has now started at MaarinPortti. The building offers around 6,000 square metres of leasable space, and the first tenants have already been confirmed. The office property is located in the growing area of northern Tapiola, right next to Otaniemi.

– We’ve been developing the project together with Fira for a long time. Fira has proven their expertise in cost awareness, schedule management, and meeting the requirements for environmental certification, says Jouni Puhakka, Project Director at NeuvotON Oy.

As part of the full interior modernization, the leasable spaces will be both upgraded and fitted out for tenants on a turnkey basis. In addition, a lunch restaurant will be renovated on the ground floor of the building.
