Fira to build a modern distribution centre for pharmaceutical wholesaler Oriola

Construction service company Fira has signed an agreement with pharmaceutical wholesaler Oriola to build a modern distribution center in Järvenpää. Construction work on the site will begin immediately.

The new distribution center will have a floor area of approximately 30,000 square meters, with its highest section reaching nearly 40 metres. The project is a technically demanding, production-facility-like complex with exceptionally high requirements for building engineering.

The project has been developed during the past autumn and early winter in close cooperation with Oriola. Fira’s own value engineering has played a key role during the design phase, especially in structural design and cost management. Construction work on the site will begin right away, and the distribution center will be completed by the end of 2027.

– Fira has the necessary expertise and strong references for delivering large, demanding logistics projects. The development phase progressed smoothly through good cooperation, and we are looking forward to bringing the new, highly modern, energy-efficient distribution center into use to serve our customers, says Tuomas Tiilikainen, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Oriola.

– The project has a very tight schedule in many respects, and Fira is fully committed to meeting it. We plan the construction so that building works and the client’s equipment deliveries and installations can be coordinated according to a reliable schedule. This is our core expertise, says Joni Juutinen, Project Manager at Fira.

The project will be delivered as a construction management contract, and the building will target at least a BREEAM Excellent rating.
